Rick Erlien, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has been licensed for 25 years as a Marriage, Family Therapist in California. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in European Cultural History and an M. S. from San Diego State University in Counseling Psychology. In his psychotherapy practice, Rick sees individuals.... adults, couples, families and adolescents. Rick wants to bring effective strategies and practical help that are results oriented. He enjoys working together with people to solve difficulties and help them to have a happier life. Rick also likes to help people understand what's wrong, know what to do that will work better, and follow through to resolve issues. Issues such as anxiety, depression, coping better, parenting coaching, family issues, relationship and marital issues, a person's potential and more are what Rick seeks to help and improve in ones life. With couples, the goal is clearer communication, greater closeness, love and passion. Happy relationships are a key to satisfaction in life. Couples gain greater control, learn to clearly communicate and re-ignite passion. Rick will offer practical help.

Along the way, Rick has managed to also pursue a music career as a composer, piano player and recording artist with his last album called "The Music of Yosemite" on Real Music. His album sells worldwide and has exceeded 100,000 albums sold! His creative side has allowed him as a therapist to see the possibilities in the people he works with, and hopefully will bring out the optimist in you! Rick offers the option to conventional approaches of utilizing music as well in therapy which he has been doing for the past 25 years. Music is wonderful as a stress reduction technique, learning relaxation methods to cope with stress or can be used to identify and manage feelings. One does not have to know much about music, only enjoy it. It is a wonderful tool as well to explore improved and enhanced potential for creativity as well.
